What a beautiful irony that atheists and agnostics know more about religion than believers do!  I find it painful that believers think people leave a faith because they want to be immoral, or because they weren’t “true” believers, or because of some personal vendetta.

In reality, I’m an atheist for one simple reason — there is no evidence that the claims of Christianity (or any other religion for that matter) are true.  I actually care about what is true, and I believe that the best path to truth that humanity has ever devised is the use of science and reason.

I’m not an atheist because I don’t understand religion or the bible.   As the Pew Forum shows, atheists and agnostics tend to know more about religion that believes themselves!
